Rogač is the main harbour on the island of Šolta, located on the northern coast directly opposite Split. Because of its short distance from the mainland, it is often the first island stop for yachts departing from the Split area or the final stop before returning to port.
The harbour functions as a town mooring area rather than a full-service marina. Berthing is organised along the quay and on mooring lines, making it suitable for short stays and overnight stops. Conditions inside the bay are generally calm, and approaches are straightforward, which makes Rogač accessible even for less experienced crews.
Facilities are simple and practical. Water and electricity are available at selected berths, and the harbour area includes basic sanitary facilities. Rogač is also an important logistical point on Šolta, as it offers fuel supply for yachts cruising this part of central Dalmatia.
From a charter perspective, Rogač works best as a convenient and low-effort stop. Its location allows crews to reach the island quickly without committing to a longer sailing day, while still enjoying the feeling of being away from the mainland.
The harbour provides easy access ashore, making it suitable for crew changes, provisioning top-ups or a relaxed evening stop. The village itself is compact and functional, with a small number of cafés, restaurants and shops located close to the waterfront. Other parts of the island, including quieter bays and inland villages, are easily reached by road or by continuing the cruise around Šolta’s coastline.
Rogač fits naturally into short island itineraries between Split, Brač and the Drvenik islands. It is not a destination for marina-based holidays, but a practical, sheltered harbour that supports flexible and relaxed cruising plans in central Dalmatia.
