Sumpetar is a small coastal settlement located southeast of Split between Jesenice and Omiš on the central Dalmatian coast. The waterfront area is used mainly by local boats, smaller private vessels and occasional visiting yachts rather than functioning as a dedicated marina or larger harbour facility.

The coastal frontage includes local moorings, short waterfront berths and small waterfront facilities suitable mainly for small craft and short stays in calm weather conditions. Organised marina infrastructure and visiting yacht berths remain limited, although additional nautical facilities are available in nearby coastal towns and marinas along the Split–Omiš route.
Access from offshore is straightforward along the central Dalmatian coastal channel, with the settlement easy to identify beneath the coastal road and hillside settlements.
Conditions are generally calm during settled weather, although the area can become exposed to southerly winds and busy coastal traffic between Split and Omiš.
Restaurants, cafés, accommodation facilities and local services are available within walking distance along the waterfront area and nearby settlements. Additional provisioning, marina services and technical facilities can be found in Omiš, Split and nearby marinas along the surrounding coastline.
From a sailing perspective, Sumpetar is mainly used as a small local coastal stop and reference point along the Split–Omiš sailing route rather than as a primary harbour or marina base. Its location along the central Dalmatian coastline makes it suitable mainly for short coastal stops while cruising through the area.
