Novigrad City Harbour is located on the western coast of Istria within the historic fishing town of Novigrad, north of Poreč and south of Umag. The harbour lies inside a naturally protected bay and forms part of the old town waterfront, where fishing vessels, local boats and visiting yachts share the central harbour area.
The harbour consists mainly of town quay berths and local moorings arranged around the inner waterfront. Space for visiting yachts is limited and usually depends on seasonal availability along the town quay. Manoeuvring is generally straightforward in calm conditions, although the harbour basin becomes busier during the summer months due to local and seasonal traffic.
Protection inside the harbour is generally good, with the surrounding harbour walls and bay reducing exposure to open sea conditions. Stronger northwesterly winds can affect the outer sections near the entrance. Due to limited space and depths, larger yachts have fewer berthing options within the town harbour itself.
Restaurants, cafés, supermarkets and other town services are located directly along the waterfront and within walking distance of the historic centre of Novigrad.
From a sailing perspective, Novigrad City Harbour is mainly used for short stays and town access while cruising along the western Istrian coast rather than as a primary marina base.
Novigrad is connected with the Riviera of Umag, situated on a small peninsula at the mouth of the river Mirna. Novigrad is connected with all major ports of western Istria. It is especially attractive to surrounding forests and rugged coastline of Novigrad. In the old part of Novigrad hotels and villas, have fit into the old city.
Cultural and entertainment events in Novigrad do not miss concerts of classical music in the town church (usually summer), and the Feast of St.. Pelagius, the patron of Novigrad (7 days in late August).Like all other towns on the Istrian coast of the Novigrad is today a modern resort, and cultural and sports center.
Novigrad is a prestigious tourist destination with many hotels, apartments, and villas. Novigrad offers comfortable accommodation at several city hotels and camps in the immediate vicinity of the sea, as well as beautiful private homes and villas. Many sports facilities provide training or entertainment.
