Rovinj City Port is located directly beside the historic old town of Rovinj on the western coast of Istria. The harbour forms part of the town waterfront surrounding the old town peninsula and serves as a mixed-use coastal port for local fishing boats, passenger traffic, excursion vessels and visiting yachts rather than a dedicated marina.
The port consists mainly of town quay berths, passenger and local-use waterfront sections, and local moorings arranged around the protected harbour basin. Visiting yachts can berth along parts of the waterfront depending on availability and harbour regulations, although space becomes limited during the summer season due to increased seasonal traffic and waterfront activity.
The harbour is naturally sheltered by the old town peninsula and surrounding harbour structures, providing generally calm conditions inside the basin.
Outer sections exposed toward the open sea can be affected by stronger northwesterly winds.
Restaurants, cafés, supermarkets and provisioning facilities are located directly along the waterfront and throughout the old town area within walking distance of the harbour. Additional organised berthing and marina infrastructure are available nearby in ACI Marina Rovinj.
From a sailing perspective, Rovinj City Port is mainly used for short stays and direct access to the town centre while cruising the western Istrian coast. Yachts requiring organised berthing, technical support or longer stays generally use the nearby marina facilities instead of the town harbour itself.
